Con-GRAD-ulations!

‘Tis the season for graduation parties!

Today was my cousin’s high school graduation party, and I had the pleasure of helping the family prepare for the festivities. My aunt was responsible for the creative parts of the party (I was just in charge of set-up and replenishing the food). She had some wonderful ideas, paired with some classic grad-party staples.

Here are the Top 3 Things All Grad Parties Should Have!

1. Delicious Food– This is CRUCIAL for any party, but especially one for high school students. Today’s party had Buffalo Wild Wings Shredded BBQ Pork, chips and fruit. But the stars of the show were the lemon cupcakes from Ta Die For, a gourmet cupcake shop in Marion, Ohio. DELICIOUS!

2. Interactive Tables– One way to keep your guests entertained (without lifting a finger) is providing interactive centerpieces on the tables. For this  party, each table had a notebook for guests to write down their own advice for the graduate. It was a great conversation starter! Plus it’s a nice memento for the graduate to keep.

3. Embarrassing Pictures– What better time to show those naked baby pictures than in front of your family and friends? Really, that’s what everyone is there to see. Pictures offer plenty of opportunities to laugh, and remember just how cute that graduate was growing up. Today, there were bulletin boards full of pictures, scrapbooks of every school year, and even a slideshow with home videos! These pictures are definitely worth the time and effort.
